New Zealand flora
You have probably heard what a beautiful place New Zealand is. Following are some of the reasons.
This is a typical backyard in Christchurch! The Avon flows in front of it and one of the pastimes in the area is punting on the Avon. Christchurch is known as the most English city in New Zealand
This is the Futuro house. Finnish architect Matti Surronen designed and built 96 of these ovaloid flying-saucer like houses in the 1960's. This one happens to have landed in the Christchurch Botanical Gardens.

The futuro house is very strange! How many square feet of living space does it have?
The Futuro is approx. 11 feet high and 26 feet across. A hatch door in its lower half opened down to reveal steps, like the door of a small airplane, and led into a room outfitted with six plastic bed-chair combinations and a central fireplace slab, as well as a kitchenette, a bathroom and one small bedroom.
Love the flower photos, the symmetry is amazing. I wonder what the cost was on one of those UFO homes. They'd fit in well with some of the geodesic dome houses in the high country around here.
I am a native of Elko, Nevada who was relocated by the Bureau of Reclamation in 1970 to Northern California. I was a contract administrator on Lewiston Dam, worked on water distribution systems in Placerville and culminated as a Budget Analyst in Sacramento. I am currently involved with my Mustang car club and doing volunteer work on various things such as the California International Marathon and the Western States 100 mile race, the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and the Sacramento Zoo.

There are 96 Futuro homes in existence if you can find them. Most of them are still being used and they have become collector's items.
